Bio

My name is Ellie Bohanon, I am a Junior at the University of Colorado majoring in Art Practices. I started my journey of creating artistic pieces as an adolescent, and have only grown to love creating visual pieces even more. I am from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. I graduated highschool from Casady School, where I first decided I wanted to choose a career based off of art. I went to Casady from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Casady instilled a lot of the skillsets I carry out with me to this day, especially the art department that constantly challenged and pushed me to do things I would have never tried on my own.  In the past I have experimented with clay, paint, charcoal, pencil, gouache, modeling paste, metal welding, and many more. However, ceramics, digital art, and painting happen to be my favorites at the moment. I hope to create pieces that spark curiosity and joy, while also being aesthetically pleasing. A few words I live by are that life is not that serious, and we should try our best to have fun and enjoy it while we are still here. Most of my pieces have lots of colors, and stories behind them. Creating art is something I do to express the thoughts inside my head while also having fun. I hope to pursue a career that involves creating artistic pieces, whether that be jewelry designing, graphic design, or selling art in a gallery. A few of my favorite artists are Denis Ouch ( a street artist in NYC ,) Ashley Longshore, and Andy Warhol. Each of them have a fun spunk, bright colors, and pop art feel to them while each of them are very different.
